Academic Programs

NaTakallam offers tailored language-learning packages and cultural exchange programs for organizations, universities, and schools. Each package is customized to meet the institution's specific needs, with a set timeframe for course completion to ensure structured and impactful learning experiences. This approach encourages consistent engagement among participants and aligns with NaTakallam’s social mission of providing meaningful economic opportunities for refugees. By partnering with educational institutions and businesses, NaTakallam helps foster cross-cultural understanding and language skills in a way that benefits both learners and the refugee language partners

Higher Education Institutions (University and Colleges)

Higher education institutions’ sessions are structured through partnerships with universities and colleges to enrich students' learning experiences. These sessions aim to deepen students' understanding of cultural and socio-political topics while also enhancing their language practice, particularly within the framework of language courses. Through these sessions, students can engage directly with a language partner, gaining insights and perspectives that complement their academic curriculum.

Pairing Process:

For university sessions, the pairing process is efficiently managed through the NaTakallam platform. Here’s how it works:

  1. Session Booking: University and college students initiate the session booking through the NaTakallam platform based on the instructions given by their professors. .

  2. Automatic Pairing: Once a booking is completed from the students’ side, the NaTakallam team will review the information provided by the students and the availabilities of the language partners (LPs) to proceed with the matching.

  3. Notification: Language partners receive notifications through the platform detailing the session specifics, including the date, time, and topics to be covered.

  4. Session Execution: On the day of the session, the students and matched language partner are connected through the designated platform (most cases is Google Meet and occasionally zoom)  to start their sessions.

This streamlined pairing process allows for smooth coordination and effective communication, ensuring that both students and language partners benefit from the educational experience.

Primary & Secondary Schools

School sessions are designed for group settings where a language partner connects with a class to discuss cultural and language topics, promoting engagement and interactive learning. Sessions are organized by student group size, with discounted rates and LPs pay tailored accordingly. Pairing Process:

For school sessions, the pairing process is managed directly by the B2B Language Learning department rather than through the NaTakallam platform. Here’s how it works:

  1. Availability Request: The language partners will receive an email from a B2B Language Learning team member asking about their availability for upcoming school sessions.

  2. Confirming Availability (within 24 hours): If the language partner is available, they should confirm their interest in the session.

  3. Scheduling: Once confirmed, the B2B Language Learning team will handle the scheduling and arrange the session, and language partners should block their calendars for the agreed-upon time to avoid conflict.

Please note that it is important to initiate conversation via email with the school teachers after the introduction has been made by the B2B Language Learning team to confirm the session details and schedules.

We strongly recommend that the assigned language partners schedule 30 30-minute calls with the school teacher and copy the B2B Language Learning team in the email communication.

After the school session is completed, the language partners should submit their own timesheet.

This approach ensures that sessions are smoothly coordinated, giving both the tutor and the school class a dedicated, scheduled time for cultural and language discussions.
